  1. Happy birthday loml! So excited you’re doing all these really cool things. Especially the first one!
Thanks to everyone for contributing your ideas. It’s gonna be a great year ahead!

  2. Hey Mandii, this looks awesome! As a long time friend I would liked to be involved in #28 and if you have time #29 also really appeals to me! Obviously I would like to be there for #7 as your official dolphin swim tour guide!! Good Luck!

  3. I think swimming with dolphins in their natural environment is a definite possibility in PMQ. There are lots in the river.

  4. Love so many of these for so many different reasons. I think that number 18 is the most important but on a cheeky note, number 28 is my favourite – I’ll defo help you out with number 28 😉 Have fun!

  5. I’m not entirely sure what No.12 “Go a bit feral” might mean, but it doesn’t mean going to a Dragons game. You may be surprised to know about 90% of spectators are completely well behaved. Now if you said Queensland or Canterbury, well that would almost certainly be feral

  6. Just for interest, your list as it applies to me

    That’s all I do!

    • 1. Who knows… I’m sure there’s someone out there who’d let you put a ring on it!
      2. I’ll let you off on this one.
      3. A one day course does NOT count. I’m surprised you don’t have it already, but then you probably only dive in countries where health and safety is more of an “optional extra”.
      4. That’s pretty awesome! Only downside of living in Australia is that my “random” destination is probably going to be Adelaide 😛
      5. Fish count – as long as you gutted them yourself!
      6. Tick!
      7. Nice one! If only we could ride them like in the movies 😛
      8. No Nepal? I’m shocked! Surely it’s next on the agenda?
      9. Bonus! Lucky you got them what they wanted or they might’ve just had a very convenient M.O. for a murder…
      10. Tick!
      11. What’s the biggest shark you’ve ever come across?
      12. You’ll have to go feral at the next game – it’s way more fun that way.
      13. Come with us!
      14. But how did you keep track of sports?
      15. What thing would you do instead to reconnect with your own childhood?
      16. I’ve actually been to a Knicks/Bulls game too but definitely not courtside! I think this one’s going to be a fizzer :/
      17. What was the orphanage like?
      18. Awesome 🙂 And you came home alive – even better!
      19. Jeopardy (twice?), It’s Academic?
      20. Lol, you’re well past your twenties I’m afraid… and you’re not invited 😛
      21. Lazy bones…
      22. Recently is the whole point – do it! U. Greg was expressing a wish to push people around on swings… perhaps he’ll help you out?
      23. Agreed.
      24. Why not? I’m sure you’ve got plenty of great travel stories to share with the world! How about “Travel the World for Profit”? I’d buy it 😛
      25. How can you not love any foods? Do you eat them too fast to taste them?
      26. Tick!
      27. HOW DID YOU LIIIVE?
      28. Go on… live a little…
      29. But you’d make such a pretty mermaid…
      30. Now THAT is a lifestyle I could get on board with 🙂

      • To answer your questions/comments
        3. I’ve actually only been diving on the Great Barrier Reef from Port Douglas
        4. I have gutted fish. I have also tried skinning and gutting impala in Zimbabawe but failed (and I didn’t kill it myself)
        8. Nepal was once FIRST on the agenda, but my physical state really won’t allow this now
        11. Last year in Nicaragua, I’d estimate 2 1/2 m basking shark. This American guy swam down and grabbed their tails.
        13. OK!
        14. Did go the Langs place a few times in Port Macq, and Greg’s when I lived in Kings Cross. There is also this thing called radio.
        15. Got me stumped there!
        17. Good experience. Your heart ached for soome of the children. Run by Catholic nuns. Kids were well fed, dressed and clean. But they didn’t have enough staff
        19. 1972 – Junior Moneymakers; 1977- it’s Academic 3 shows, Jeopardy 4 shows; +Who Wants to be a Millionaire
        20. I meant I have reunited with old friends!
        21. It’s not lazy. Just something I have no desire to do.
        22. OK
        24. Another thing no particular desire to do. But the travel book has been recommended numerous times over the last 26 years!
        25. Just don’t. Not something I think matters (but I do tend to eat fast).
        27. Dry foods mostly, occasional fresh meat, bought and cooked the same day.
        28. I’ll live alittle but can’t do that. Unless you count that I’m no longer working, so a weeks wages = 0!

  7. #11: I swam with sharks (again), as recently as Monday this week. In Maldives. They were reef sharks, about 50 centimetres long, but stilll… But as for the biggest? Well, that’d be whale sharks, in Mozambique in November 2006. About 20 METRES long…

    • Apart from getting engaged I’d have to say my next two faves are competing on a game show and turning up at the airport and then flying somewhere random with just a handbag and a credit card! I would recommend all of the above!

  8. Heres mine.
    1) Got engaged to Kevin but am still waiting for the ring
    2) Took up running several years ago and have run the distance but have not competed officially. However I did place 5th in my division in the Gold Coast 10Km and have won my division in the Menai fun run twice. Maybe I should compete in a half marathon when I turn 50.
    3) Scuba Diving I have only done once. They wouldnt let me do it last year cause I ticked the box that said I had experienced fits. Next time I will lie.
    4) The closest I have come to this is when I surpirsed you and Ryan with a mystery flight on your 8th birthday and we went t Movie World. I had the best day with you both.
    5) I went to Forster once as a kid and went fishing. Can’t remember if we ate the fish later or not but I do remember kinda gutting it but may have let Dad do most of the work there.
    6) Just travel blogs when I went overseas.
    7) I haven’t swum we a dolphin but I did feature in the Whale Show with Shamu in Seaworld San Diego after getitng pulled from the rather large audience there. It was humiliating as Shamu splashed me with his tail and I got drenched.
    8) The injections put me off getting a culture injection. They wanted me to travel to INdia when I worked on Offshoring but it was around the time of the Mumbai bombing in the Taj and our trip was cancelled.
    9) GO SKYDIVING..i WILL NEVER EVER DO THIS.
    10) I have never been to an AFL game. I may do this next year.
    11) ON my one and only scuba dive we saw a reef shark. I have also seen a barracuda whilst snorkelling. For all my fear of animals there is something about swimming like this that is soothing and not at all scary!\
    12) Well hello!!
    13) Can’t tick this off sorry. I have been wind surfing but wasnt very good at it!!
    14) There was one TV in our household growing up and being very low on the pecking order I nenver got to watch the shows I wanted. These days however I cannot see me ever achieving this goal ..or even wanting to.
    15) I dont like McDonalds food..at all!!
    16) This is an expensive one. But NY is my all time favourite city and I have just spent the best 10 days ever exploring ever single bit of Manhattan. It wasn’t basketball season when I was there.
    17) I am ashamed to say I never volunteer for things. Even if my work gives me a day off a year to do it. But I would support any charity that helps people help themselves rather than just handouts.
    18) Never done this
    19) Never done this.
    20) I think your Canadian friends would wonder why I was joining them on the night out.
    21) I have no musical ability whatsoever and no desire to learn.
    22) Yep I’ve been on a swing!!
    23) That one takes some commitment. I am not a big movie watcher I’m afraid and probably lucky to have seen more than 5 movies on the list.
    24) Great goal. Amanda you should definitely do this as you write so well
    25) I have hosted and wrote a How to Host a Murder Dinner Party. Kev cooks my favourite foods all the time and mum used to make me eat my least favourite foods all the time no matter how much I carried on
    26) Done
    2& Not done
    28) What if I spent it on clothes instead?
    29) I did make a Super 8 movie with my friends with several public locations (eg. Narwee Carpark simulating someone getting runover by a car) That was pretty silly!!
    30) With my selfish ways, that ones not even a challenge!!

    • Shamu?! Wasn’t that the whale that killed its trainer?! I would be pretty pleased about escaping with nothing but a splash!

I still have fond memories of that mystery flight… lucky our flight was to the Goldie! Can you imagine carting us around Adelaide for the day?

You have an impressive list there and I hope to be as good a runner as you when I’m you’re age… I still have a few years to train to get there! You’re my running inspiration 🙂

  9. Hey Amanda! It’s so good that you’ve almost completed your list! You can always ask my dad for a lesson with the guitar 🙂
Good Luck especially with the cooking of an animal!!! And skydiving..

    • Both equally scary I must admit!

I’ve been learning to sing, which I can only assume counts as an instrument… An instrument of torture by all accounts! Haha

      Xo
