Challenge number 28 on the Top 30 Countdown dared me to ‘Spend a week’s wage on a night out‘.

That’s my kind of “challenge”!

I umm’d and ahh’d about this one for pretty much the entire year. Should I gamble it all away on a single spin of the roulette wheel? Should I rent a stretch Hummer and drive around Sydney sipping champagne and lording it all over everyone? I even briefly considered an international trip, but thought better of it when I checked out my rather grim looking annual leave balance.

In the end I decided that the best way to blow a week’s wage would be to spend it all celebrating with my closest friends and family – so, last night, that’s exactly what I did!

… but not before running around Sydney dressed in a police outfit inviting strangers to dance ‘Gangnam Style’ for the camera…

Riding the coattails of happiness

I’ve got several movies lined up waiting to be reviewed and today is the first chance I’ve had to blog in a while… but before I get stuck into another whinge about gangsters, I thought I’d write about something a little closer to my heart… Something that has become glaringly apparent to me since starting this Top 30 Challenge blog and journey.

Consequently, I’ve become rather busy… to the point where I’ve started to question whether this Top 30 List was really such a great idea…

Getting into the swing of things

I’m back in the game baby!

Not only did I tick off my 9th list item today but (at least in my opinion) I did it in style.

One of my oldest friends, Dom, and I finally found the opportunity to get to the nearest swingset and get swinging! As previously planned, we made our way to the GIGANTIC swing at the ‘Constellation Playground’ on the Bay Run… and then proceeded to have the day of our late-twenties’ lives!

Ahh push it. Puh-push it real good.

It may seem like a very simple task to accomplish, but ever since my friend Dom suggested the Top 30 list item “Be pushed on a swing”, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect swing. Not just any swing will do. I’ve encountered plenty of bad swings in my 29 years: Swings that pinch, swings that teeter, swings that are form-fitted to the bum of a newborn infant and therefore not capable of holding any more than one butt cheek at a time…

No. I couldn’t just use any old swing. I needed to find THE swing.
