My name is Amanda (“Mandy” to some and “Snowdrop Panda” to few).

I lead a particularly charmed life and seem have everything a girl could ask for. I have amazing friends, a supportive family, a small but growing collection of financial assets, plenty of traveller’s tales, and the perfect man by my side. Kylie Minogue should be so lucky!

There is just one thing that I don’t have, and on the eve of my 29th birthday (as the prospect of the big three-oh looms) I’ve decided it’s about time I gave myself a little birthday gift…

What is the gift? Well it’s the present of course!

Sure, that might be a groan-worthy sentiment, but I’ve spent the past 29 years obsessing over the past and stressing about the future. I figure it’s time for me to start living in the here and now!

As Ferris Bueller once put it, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it”. It’s a point that has hit particularly close to home for me and my family in recent times. Consider the message receieved, loud and clear!

So, with all of this in mind, I recently appealed to 30 of my most inspirational friends and family and asked each person to add once thing to my “30 things to try before I’m 30” list. This is that list. In fact, this blog is item number 6 on the list: “Start a blog“. Come hell or high water, I hope to tick each and every one of these 30 items off before I turn 30 on 1 July 2013.

Just you wait and see!

      • Not really! You can put the award on your page and tell everyone seven things about yourself! You can nominate other people to get this award (if you really like their blogs) or you can just keep doing what your doing – which, but the way, is working because you have a great blog 🙂

      • Well are’t you just the sweetest? Ok, well I’ll have to scout around for my favourite blogs and get on the bandwagon! Do I really have to limit it to *just* 7 things about myself? haha

      • Haha – as many things as you like! They say seven (I’m not sure why – I think I put three in one dot point) and to nominate seven – but I have so many people I love to read here -I couldn’t stop at seven 🙂

    • Would you believe that, back in the day, creating that gif for me was my current boyfriend’s way of “flirting” with me? Aren’t nerds just the most creative romantics?!

Best of luck on your award nomination. It’s nice to get validation for doing something you enjoy 🙂
